John has been training at the Malvern Eskrima Group for Ten years and acheived his 4th Degree Black Belt in the Dacayana System of Indigenous Cebuano Martial Arts in 2015. Like all who grade through Malvern Eskrima his Grade is endorsed not only by the group but also by Dacayana UK, Grandmaster Jun Dacayana, Sacred Spring and the Shinpi Izumi Council ...ensuring he has achieved the very highest standard.
John's previous Martial arts training included Wing Chun Kung Fu and his experience in this Art has helped to make him a very fast and effective Eskrima practitioner. John is also Graded Highly to Apprentice Instructor in JKD Concepts which gives him a very well rounded approach to his Martial Arts.
John is an excellent teacher of both Children and Adults and has recently opened his own club in Malvern as well as offering his dedication and time to help teach the Youngsters at Malvern Merlins and Kestrels at the Club.
